I agree, considering that much of their marketing surrounds DIY automation and they have this whole IoT cloud platform now, they very little support for low-power operation. In this regard I think Adafuit and Seeed platforms do much better,

I've placed probably 20-50 orders through JLC. Very consistently decent quality, and surprisingly good customer service, they manually check every design within a few hours and will email with issues and/or their adjustment. Tip f

If anyone is interested, as I was, data up to 2019 comes from [1]. Note that it's plotting medians of those who hold the asset, so i.e. "non-residential real estate" (held by 7% of households) is median $70k. [1] https:/

This seems like largely a ranking of what banks the market is currently pricing in for failure (via share price and P/B). Still interesting, but maybe not really based on the banks fundamentals, just 'market wisdom'

I use store-bought pitas, sliced in half (thickness-wise, takes some practice). Very easy, and gets nicely crispy.

In a similar vein, I've been using ExpanDrive [0] for a while. Though admittedly it's only suitable for infrequent access / long term storage type use. [0] https://www.expandrive.com/desktop/

My opinion on this matter is entirely driven by the fact that I got used to easy '--' and '---' en/em dashes in LaTex. So now when I use Word, I added autocorrection triggers for '--' and '_-' to

I use N++ everyday and do love it; though I recently found out that it completely freezes trying to open modest sized single-line json (couple MB), which made me sad.

I guess I'm confused, if you're already running Cloudfront, API Gateway, and lambdas, why you'd bother to make API calls out to Sheets rather than just plunking down a simple DynamoDB? Maybe the data access patterns are more

I'm not very familiar with Freifunk, but if it interfaces like a normal WLAN to the user, then simply not advertising SSID and a basic password will go pretty far. This is obviously not secure against any sort of special operative, but

There's been heavy use of these kinds of services for exactly this purpose. See [1] for example. Typically airbases, mass graves, bridges; things we know won't move or change too fast. [1] https://www.thedrive.com/

Not a lawyer, but my understanding last I looked into it was that names and rules cannot be copyrighted (names can be trademarked though). In very limited cases a novel mechanic could be patented (famously MTG 'tapping' of cards).

There are some Helium nodes along the SLC foothills [1], though I'm not seeing many so remote or far from a road. Unclear if this displays history or only active nodes. [1] https://explorer.helium.com/iot/hex/
