If the bounty money borders on insignificant, there's always public shaming. Demo the exploit in a controlled environment, and let the media cycle go.

The geography doesn't scale up for the US though. I imagine people in Oregon, near the growers, also pay less per tree.

Curious why it wouldn't start 'verifying' immediately on load? The fact that it runs in the background is really key--I'd hate to fill out an entire form, click the button at the end, and still have to wait around to sub

How much of these bloat libraries / frameworks does the browser cache, vs how much is downloaded fresh each time (looking across multiple sites)? Are there no tools to extract only the portions of js / css etc that your site actua

Generally I think many YT creators have multiple sources of income (ads, Patreon, merch, sponsored vids)--as such they have many "customers". It's their distribution channel that's locked up.

That's too bad; glad I got a chance to visit a couple years ago. If anyone is wondering what's next: as others have noted, there's China's FAST antenna. That's a dish format telescope similar (but bigger) to Arecibo

Starboard looks very cool as well. Is there anyway to push all the outputs into a separate 'document'? That'd be super cool for e.g. Latex too. My issue with these notebooks is they always get very cluttered with inline outpu

Very cool! Felt a bit odd that "running" a line didn't drop the cursor down past the output, ready for the next line; but the current seems useful for editing and re-trying a line, also interesting!

If I'm reading the 'buy' page correctly, this is in fact only $10k in deposits with $190k in commitments at an unknown future time, similar to Tesla reservations. A bit different than $200k in hard sales. Actually for $10k yo

Most annoying thing is even gmail does this to me all the time now. Enter the recipient, then click down to subject line.. but in that two-second delay gmail suggests new contacts, just in time for me to accidentally click on them. Not to m

On that note, why aren't there more touch screen mirrors? Of all of these, that ones makes a certain amount of sense (being a 'screen' we already look at at least a few times a day). I've only ever seen the DIY ones, nev

I don't think Subaru is worried about a $70-100k Hummer any more than they are about a Mercedes G-Wagon.

The concept you're referring to with drawing obsolete design features from the past is called Skeuomorphism. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. Apple products used to be bad about this. Tesla has done well to design away the ICE front

That's how my fiance found it. Had been happening on and off (mostly off) for 10 years before someone finally recommended a scope. Even then she was in her 20s.

My fiance was diagnosed in her 20s. Still relatively rare at that age, but the doctors noted there's significant increases in prevalence in young people.

Controversial content (lately that means political) regularly gets flagged and removed. As a recent example the NYT Trump Taxes article went through cycles of being posted, rapidly upvoted, then flagged to algorithmic removal, over and over

Nice concept. I had an idea a while back to make a reviews site where the prerequisite was having owned the item for something like 5 or 10 years.

I do love Microcenter, but the one in my hometown I've never seen bare components. Actually nothing hobby-centric really at all, not even breakout boards or small modules.

Back in college, I etched my own PCBs in tupperware with muratic acid, with Sharpie marker as the mask. Nowadays I buy $2 (for 5) PCBs from china. Equipment-wise, you can reflow SMDs quite well on a frying pan.
