I had the exact opposite experience as you. I was a night owl my entire life until my last few years of college, when it got difficult. Then I was able to transition to being an early riser in a couple of weeks, and I carry that experience

The Germans definitely sent Lenin because he would pressure whichever government Russia ended up with to withdraw from the war. It's wrong to call Lenin a German agent the same way it's disingenuous to call Corbyn a Russian agent

The solution is to either provide a Rational type that doesn't uses fixed values instead of floating point or to have programmers understand how floating point works and why you shouldn't compare them by absolute equality.

Is this a new thing though? Bug threads about important issues were full of animated GIFs for the decade I've been following them.

That line became incredibly cheap since LNER took over from Virgin. I've taken several next-day return trips from London to Edinburgh for less than £100 return.

They might have changed it in the last 8 years, but one of the worst things about this change is that the referrer requests were made in HTTP. Anyone sniffing your connection could find out what you were writing on the Ubuntu spotlight.

I was taught that real numbers were countable before learning what computables numbers where. "There's a set of countable numbers that includes every real number you know and doesn't include handwavy concepts" was news t

One of the ways to define the set of computable numbers is as the set of numbers for which there exists a program that, given an integer, gives you the n'th digit of this number. This set is countable: each one of these programs repres

I find this constant to be the most intuitive way to define uncomputable numbers, which itself is the most intuitive way to define uncountable sets.

The article was frustrating to read. Most of it is unrelated to the move and instead talks about things Tiffany's did recently. 100% a paid ad.

Why is it that Hipmunk had the best travel search interface I've used while SAP Concur's is absolute rubbish? What did they gain from the acquisition other than stopping a minor competitor?

That's actually the issue. Most operating systems don't have the windowing capabilities of most Linux distributions. I'm stuck on a Mac, where I cannot always on top, hide the title bar, or alt-drag windows to move them.

What's the problem with using a long but humanly readable password, like several concatenated words? It's not like you are trying to protect against large scale attacks.

I agree. Brain-dumping `\begin{float}[t]` while writing seems more natural than thinking "go to this menu, click this option, see if it inserted the float, and choose 'top' in its location properties dialog".
