I used to work as an out source, getting a salary of $18,000. Then I got a visa and relocated and my salary increased by 611%. My culture, education, language skills and work ethics did not change. This is not fair.

Looks like netlify requires a github account? I have an issue with that, as I'm against monopolies. As far as small private web sites are concerned, there are a lot of totally free options, and Hetzner offers web sites for 2 euro a mon

If zoom doesn't encrypt, bad actors will use (or build) another app, that does. All they are doing is giving a free peek for Chinese or Russian spies.

I think the famous rule for short memory capacity (we can on average keep 7 words/numbers/objects in out short memory) should also apply here. Up to 7 words/operators per line, up to 7 lines for a function etc. are optimal.

This is nothing but racism. Foreign engineers are no inherently worse than "domestic" born and raised. For proof, just visit any Silicon Valley company office. You will see nothing but foreign born engineers.

I worked at a company that had a New York office and a remote country office. People basically sat in a videochat all day long. I'd say it is more efficient, because you don't need to be in the room all the time, and you can do ot

I know a first-world company hiring third-world people. All the taxes are handled by the contractor himself. There are no legal issues to speak of, you only need an invoice from the contractor, or from an intermediator company, such as fiv

Software is only part of a major search engine. Another part, no less costly is hardware. You need a lot and lot of computers to scrap and index the web. To be more specific, Google had 2.5 million computers back in 2016. Luckily, DDG does

Communication is a key to a high-level position in a hierarchy, and therefore, to the wealth. But very high IQ people have difficulty connecting with the majority of other people, so they lag behind.

Well, immutable database is just a database without the "delete" and "update" operations. Blockchain, on the other hand, is something entirely different - it's a distributed consensus protocol.

You confuse declarative and functional. Declarative is when the sequence of execution is not related to the order of operators in the program text, but is derived at run time. The animation, where sequence of events is known exactly, is the
