Yeah, but with a mobile app you have all those downsides... and you have to deal with the whims of a walled-garden gatekeeper like Google or Apple. That is, I can't just create an app and throw it up on a server like I can with a webs

I have no qualms with either format. Both have their pros and cons. But until ebooks have an equivalent of "used" ebooks, I'm going to continue buying used paper books. $1 or $3 for a beautiful break from backlighting, as wel

Of course, I was being stereotypical, but it's interesting to hear your experience! Have you considered a web IDE? Like Cloud9, Nitrous.io, etc?

In a vacuum, I'd agree with your thoughts. However, the competition makes similar devices at similar prices that, objectively, do a lot more. That's where it becomes a debate.

Agreed. For a more affluent demographic that can afford it, however, the iPad Pro wins because it's an iPad and "not a laptop." Same reason people spend more money to buy SUVs and crossovers...it's "not a minivan.&q

For all the hate this device gets, it has its fans. Particularly (in my experience) middle-age "tech enthusiasts" (commonly, folks who don't work in the industry but consider themselves trendy because they know about the newe

There's nothing (I know of) with a more radical approach to the full-stack web than Meteor. No one's saying you need to keep up with all the JS frameworks, but if I were hiring a JS dev, I'd expect the person to understand

I'm not saying the # of GitHub stars is a good reason to choose a framework. But it is an indicator of it being something more than not-just-another-stupid-shiny framework that cannot be immediately dismissed.

Meteor is different. It's been over 4 years. It's not going anywhere. It has more stars on GitHub than Rails. If you haven't looked into it, and you're in a remotely adjacent field, you're behind. Even if you don&#x

Yeah I think people misread Scott. He's always had crazy ideas, but they've been well-articulated and always delivered with a healthy dose of humility. He doesn't take himself too seriously. Whereas many see him as a troll, I
