I totally agree here. At the beginning I disliked Slack threads. But apart from the notification issue, I think the advantages of having a more focussed discussion where everything can be found in one place outweighs the disadvantages.

I agree. The feature set is too shallow for a $12/mo subscription for personal usage. Or the target group is even more niche than I assume.

I'd say get more used to Linux first. I tried LTS with very little prior Linux experience 10 years ago and failed miserably. Small documentation issues like a wrong version or an incomplete command line argument took me hours to find a

That I can relate to. For us, there's only one dev team which uses HTTP2 (financial industry, so HTTP2 is still seen as "new = beta") and encountered that problem. I have no idea how they solved it though.

Will this be availabe as Open Source version (MicroOKD?) as well? I don't see it mentioned in the blog post. I'd love to see how the resource consumption compares to k3s.

> The site was created in 2006 with little knowledge of security, so passwords were stored in md5() hashes without salt Ouch! I hope they learned their lesson: Security is an ongoing effort.

I looked into Bookstack three years ago when searching a replacement with a better WYSIWYG editor for my DokuWiki instance so my wife could participate in the Wiki. I can't exactly remember, why I did not chose Bookstack, but I was pos

I don't see how that's a straw horse. It's even mentioned in the blog post as the "Enforcement problem". Nobody can (or should) take NFTs for Real-Life goods seriously until this problem is solved for good. I myself

Thanks for the heads-up. I was considering upgrading soon. Now I'll wait for the bug reports to be resolved first.

Adding "-E" should be considered as well, so traps are also applied in functions.

I expected something similar to Instacode ( http://instaco.de/ ) with more options and filters and was a bit disappointed. I used Instacode a couple of times for nice images in otherwise dry blog entries.

I'm using MicroG for a year now and didn't have problems with push yet. Signal and WA are working fine, other Apps with push as well. No idea about Telegram, I'm not using that.

I'm using my old home PC as server an K3s barely adds CPU load. I assume it's the 7 years old Atom processor. The memory memory footprint of K3s is recognizable on my 16 Gigs of RAM though.

Is this the first self-hosted PaaS solution also running on Kubernetes? As far as I know neither Dokku nor CapRover do, which always deterred me from these applicationsas I'm running K3s at home.

References to LineageOS (which /e/ is a fork of) and microG can be found on their "Getting Started" page [1]. I wouldn't call that "hiding". Also, don't they fund microG development since a couple of

Just as an addition to the OP comment: "perl -pe 's/old/new/g'" is the perl pendant for sed. The obvious advantage is the support for Perl regexes. Also there's the "-r" switch for sed whic

I disagree. AZs are completely independent data centers kilometres apart. For any businesses which may need low latency but still want full HA (e.g. finance systems), it's a blessing. This requirement cannot be fully covered with separ

This looks really nice. My blog is rather small and Matomo always seemed to be too big for it. I'll test this one as an alternative.
