As another comment on here has said so well - how people make their money matters. I believe that crypto generally is a massive scam, so making money from it and donating it to what you think is a good thing is still net bad. I disagree wit

I don't think i am pushing for feeling good. I am just suggesting that we should be the change we want to see at a low level. Be the good neighbour (literally). This change in culture would permeate creating good people, which would co

The problem with this stuff is that they are manipulating govt to take people's money in order to promote their own vision of what is good at taxpayer expense. I suppose they think their concept of good is better than everyone else

The problem with effective altruism is that it is devoid from reality: - no country was ever made wealthy by just giving them things. Wealth comes from passing through the difficult stages of development oneself - you personally should do t

Well, that's where it comes down to who you are. It is worth it to some, but not to everyone. The problem is that blanket rules are applied to everyone, without compensation. Even those that claim the are doing it to prevent environmen

Part of my point is that people's ability to make an algorithm to react quickly is unequal, even if the opportunity to do so is equalised under insider trading regs. The profit will flow towards those with the ability, which the re

The problem here is that we are treating a symptom of legislation and not the cause, as usual. Instead of all trying to agree on a level of tax rates (unrealistic) we could unilaterally slash corporate tax rates and watch the others follow.
