Depends if the state is democratic... The US government interferes all the time with private-owned industries by putting in place laws (e.g. anti-trust) and monetary policy. So this is socialism by the US definition... There's neither free

Sorry, I think you're wrong. Socialism, as a means to obtain equality, must be intrinsically democratic. All socialist parties I know about are democratic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_centralism As I said, "socialism" is well

Khruschev introduced no capitalism. He simply stopped Stalin's terror policies. And there's no such thing as communism in the whole history of humanity. All that has been "attempted" was socialism. Communism means NO STATE whatsoever.

Police did not find that OK. Police just make people obey the law. And politicians write the laws. And back to politics again, so end of the story. Here you can just argue if such laws are OK or not, which will also end in a political debat

Just a point: "Darwinian evolution will improve us eventually" I completely disagree. In a civilization Darwinian evolution does not apply anymore because society protects its weakest members.

I have to diagree with your PoV for recursion. I personally don't have any problems if an alogrithm is iterative or recursive, specially if the recursivity is as simple as in your example. In fact, in such cases recursivity is even simpler

"Someone is using your software otherwise you wouldn’t be writing it." Well this is actually wrong. A lot of people write code just for fun (for the lulz), or for their personal use.
