You don't understand it, but you know you don't like it, right? Its amazing that this kind of nonsense gets so much play. People will pretend all kinds of obviously false things about Apple-- like that there is an antanna defect with the i

It is one of the requirements of the patent process. This is why Apple uses the shape of an iPhone or an iPod in their patents, as they are required to provide examples.

All to often, people seem to associate "not taking venture capital" with being a "lifestyle business". GitHub is an interesting business. Like EngineYard or any other tool oriented startup, its potential is not the same as a broad consumer

Capitalism is the antidote for poverty. This is proven by the simple example of any poor person- whether US born, india born, chinese born, etc, who starts a business-- any business-- and grows it to the point that they leave enough money

Shame on anyone who upmods a comment like yours which consists of nothing but calling someone a name and then telling two lies.

I submit that if you take the time to learn Objective-C you'll feel quite differently. I've learned many languages in my years, while neither Java nor Objective-C is my favorite language right now (erlang is, though I haven't used it for aw

Actually the rules seem to vary pretty widely. All of them require some sort of application, but while some countries really aren't interested in immigrants, others will approve anyone who is reasonably qualified.

I think Panama City and Panama in general is the city of the future in this hemisphere. It is strategic to the chinese who are modernizing the canal, and the canal provides funding for the government. They are getting the best and the bri

Deliberately didn't mention where we were from because didn't want to debate the merits of that location, so much as hear people's thoughts about other locations. Dont' really want to talk about the company either because we're still in wha

Been doing that already for 2.5 years now. Figured there would be some places we hadn't thought of as tech centers and might be one of them is worth the immigration hassles to stick around for a couple years. Turns out there are several g

I would be more open to Tel Aviv if Israel was more open to us. One of the operating hypothesis in this search is that the place that would welcome us with open arms will also welcome bright people from around the world, and will tend to th

Its too early for you to need to scale, but it seems to me that a service like App Engine eliminates: 1- The cost. Right off the bat you're spending $1,700 that would probably cost you nothing if you hosted it with google. 2- The administr

I love the response. See, I don't care about "keeping up appearances" or anyone thinking that I'm "a nobody"-- in hong kong. I'm not going to be trying to persuade anyone in hong kong of anything, other than technical points at meetups, m

Thanks for that. Seems Hong Kong is doing well on those lists, with Singapore close behind and Chile making a (possibly) surprise appearance. I appreciate the research. I'm still working my way thru the response to the original question.
