I believe when regular users were able to create the world around them in a MUD they were called "wizards", this is like as if in a MMORPG some players gain the privilege to add mods to the official game world for all players to e

It's strange how Nvidia just doubled down on a flawed design for no apparent reason. It doesn't even do anything, the adapter is so short you still have the same mess of cables in the front of the case as before.

Think about it logically: Are you really sure you can validate the script yourself? If it takes you weeks to do what Claude does in some hours, it seems misplaced confidence in your capabilities.

Also in Germany, their leading solar energy technology became unprofitable in the global market and was sold to China (see what happened to Q-Cells [1]). The EU can publicly finance research all they want, but if the results of which gets p

We have the weights and the code for inference, in the analogy this is an executable binary. We are missing the code and data for training, that's the "source code".

Yes even for commercial purposes which is great, but the point of and reason why "open source" became popular is that you can modify the underlying source code of the binary which you can then recompile with your modifications inc

Nonono the code for (pre-)training wasn't released either and is non trivial to replicate. Releasing the weights without the dataset and training code is equivalent of releasing a binary executable and calling it open source. Freeware
