I'm writing a networked rpc "framework"[0], too! Can you summarize or point me to some resources that outline the aspects you find interesting? I'd like to be aware of them as I'm building and designing! [0]: https

This looks like you're complaining that your development environment is not configured to work with Deno and is instead configured to process typescript files for a completely different runtime? Deno's tooling is top notch. The fa

As with most engineering tools, I think using the word "better" is not necessarily correct. It's a matter of tradeoffs. For me, I was fed up maintaining code to run my neovim setup the way I want, so I was looking for a confi

But this allocates a new string instead of being a slice to the data in the binary in memory loaded by the os, doesn't it?

Deno packs a lot in and V8 is pretty big to begin with. It makes sense to me that a Go binary will be leaner in pretty much every metric than a Deno script. I think the win with Deno is the JS ecosystem and the situations where JSs dynamici

It's going to completely depend on the tool. I can start an elixir app in half a second, which is going to be unacceptable in many situations. That said, there are also many situations where that is a tradeoff absolutely worth making!

I use netlify for serving frontend assets and have used fly.io's free tier, supabase's free tier, and all the major public cloud free tiers (though the latter is the most difficult to manage from a cost perspective).

Solid engineers work at all kinds of places and are capable of producing really cool stuff no matter where they are working. Don't judge something too much by its sponsors, IMO!

I believe you may want a non-turing complete language for strict configuration. But sometimes, as you indicate, you want VERY dynamic configuration. But I would argue then that such logic goes in your application itself and is not in fact p

Seconded! It also helps in my code that I can see all the things that can go wrong for a given module. Sure, this isn't unique to "thiserror" because you can do this with any enum, but it's much cleaner while being sensi
