I still like to buy my cheap and esoteric Chinese stuff from Amazon. It's a good balance of not-too-slow-delivery and not-too-expensive for very specific stuff. And it's easy to return if it doesn't work. Example last purch

How do you handle the do-before-thinking devs? Or the kinda low-to-mid performing devs? Most companies has one or a few of those, right? They help the company machine go around by doing the somewhat boring stuff over and over again. Tailsca

It's like.. what happens when software becomes a solved problem? Like bricks for construction. There's not 50 million typically highly paid brick design engineers in the world.

Not that I wouldn't want Apple to pay ARM more, but, a) Apple is getting really good at switching CPU architectures when needed. b) Don't they already have a forever licence to the ARM ISA (since the 90s/Newton) as well as

I think it is. I just struck me - would be fun to re-read The Age of Spiritual Machines (Kurzweil, 1999.) I was so into it 26-27 years ago. The amount of ridicule this man has suffered on HN is immense.

Also: porn. Audio is too niche and porn is too ethically messy and legally risky. There's also music, which the giants also don't touch. Suno is actually really impressive.
