Can you please dial down the patronising sexism? Women have a right to vote, and it is not your call to declare if their decision is OK or not.

You can defend the ministry of truth as much as you want. There has been too much deception in recent years, people simply stop believing it. The meda were always there to steer "democracies", they even outright admit it by sayi

I dont know if I have ever read something as poetic and true to the point at the same time. Thanks for this priceless realisation.

I realized the stupidity argument during covid first, and it all came from the left. So much contempt, a reason why I no longer can identify with liberals. In fact, I am disgusted by what I remember from 2020/21.

Throwng in self-awareness in that context seems like a very slippery slope. That sounds like you are advocating for legal infanticide? Besides, if you believe animals are not self-aware, why d you care about "welfare"?

No, thats not what I said, and you know that. I believe we are using abortion to a very high degree for basic birth control. I am aware that there are exceptions, like those you mentioned. However, while necessary, these exceptions also

We're using abortion as birth control, in at least 90% of the cases, if not more. Because we dont want to tell the people involved that they have responsibilities in life, and if they dont want children, they are supposed to keep thei

To declare an arbitrary date when a human being starts to be a human being is so hypocritical, its no longer funny. Actually, I would call that ignorant and evil.

I dont know about the USA. But I know from personal experience, that COVID politics destroyed my trust in left-leaning parties. I voted left until 2020. I will never give them my vote again, ever.

I couldn't agree more. This "my political enemy is stupid" approach is very divisive and will not lead to good outcomes.

I talked to a scientist who works on sonificantion over a cofee once. Whats interesting is, that they keep finding applications where sonification is superior to visualisation. it boils down to continuous monitoring being more efficient v

Oh, the touchy-feely CS industry. I miss the old days when feelings didn't really count. I dont care if not-quite-a-whole-sentence of mine makes people afraid of things they dont know enough about.

Funny, I have a similar analogy when it comes to mice: Small children lacking verbal communication skills can only point at things, which is the equivalnet of using a"pointing device". When they grow up, they learn to speak meani

Fascinating. Me mentioning NAT as a positive (blocks all incoming ports) prompts people to reply with a word salad that contains "crappy" and "corrupted". Fact is, NAT is being used in almost every apartment LAN setup

Regarding diagrams as code, the diagrams Haskell package is also worth a look. My goto "drawing" tool, as I wrote a Braille backend for it, which now lets me raster lots of stuff as Unicode Braille. stack install diagrams-braille
