> subject up to a $20,000,000 fine Up to 4% or 20Mill. A small startup won't get slapped with that size of a fine. If you are worried about those numbers, you should be able to hire a lawyer and ensure you are in compliance.

You're right. Why should I have to spend my money to make sure I'm not polluting the environment? Make my products conform to safety regulations? Provide safe working conditions? Pay my taxes? It's all the governments fault f

Then automate the process or hire an administrator to deal with stuff like this. It's not the requester's fault that you can't handle compliance with a law efficiently.

I think the big use case would be to skip a couple of days or a week at a time. A week living in the real world, a week asleep. You don't miss much and you can effectively double your lifespan.

Ally is Good. Schwab is another one. The problem is that you will be hard pressed to find a excellent bank that has a large physical presence. Get a local credit union and you should be more than happy.

I think it really comes down to developer tooling. Devs, in the absence of tooling will make their own and default to the latest stuff. If the company doesn't provide a fully mirrored developer environment, then everyone is asking for

Docker has evolved beyond just running docker containers. I don't have any experience with it, but: https://docs.docker.com/docker-cloud/apps/service-links/

Docker allows you to say "Application X" talks to "Application Y" and it will do the rest with minimal configuration. The same could be accomplished with Consul or Salt/Ansible/Puppet that knows about the servi

My personal design philosophy (from a System Admin, SRE, DevOps, Ops- whatever) is no black boxes. I'm not talking about knowing the inns and outs of every little component in my infrastructure/system, but instead of saying "

I've been tasked a couple of times trying to debug issues in 3rd party docker images. Every one of those images did something different. Placed configuration, binaries, libraries, or logs in different locations. A simple task on a stan

It will be interesting to see an statics on how much it has changed movie viewership. I'm sure there are a couple of Data Scientists or Business Intelligence people at Regal tracking attendance of Moviepass-ers, and I bet they have a p

It's true. I used to have put movies into 3 categories. 1. I'll see by myself 2. I'll see if someone else wants to. 3. Nope With MoviePass, my friend group and I have been able to to add a 4th option to that list: I'll s

Recruit has been on a spending spree. As what happened with SimplyHired and Workopolis, I'm guessing the data in GlassDoor will be integrated into Indeed's own platform and then GlassDoor will become another frontend for https:&#

I would get maybe 100 out of that 800 are Engineers/Software/SRE. The rest is BI, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Management, HR, and so on. Recruit Holdings is focused on the Job/HR space, so this acquisition makes sense

In my current experience, VDO is awesome for VM storage. I'm at around 80% deduplication and compression with minimal overhead. I also tried it with a bunch of Media files (uncompressed MKVs) and it was unable to do anything with it. I

Yes. We have a custom build application that requires newer libs that CentOS 7 naively provides as well as some kernel hooks not found in the 3.x kernel. I've not encountered any problems so far, but we do fairly aggressive full stack

Using a bad example, let's say x86-64 and A11 can both add numbers up to 3 digits. The a11 can do that faster than x86-64. But I want to add a 5 digit number. The x86-64 can do that with one instruction, but the A11 has to break that 5
