It isn’t made for a datacenter it’s made for a studio. Studio equipment is often rack mounted so being able to put the computer in there too is great. And the case isn’t new it’s the same as the 2019 Mac Pro.

There has been experimental WebXR support in Safari since 2022, but looking at the WebKit bug tracker [1] it doesn't seem finished yet. I guess the next few days will tell us if this is a priority for them. [1] https://bugs.

They use their own TPUs like described in this paper [0]. They talk about 4096-chip supercomputers so this should give you an idea about what we are talking here. The paper is pretty fascinating stuff. They are using optical interconnects f

A degraded battery can't deliver as much power as a new battery and for your phone to feel fast you have big cores to boost to over 3 GHz which requires a relatively high voltage. These voltages aren't possible with a degraded bat

Laptops for the enterprise markets are better for the enterprise market. They are often relatively easy to repair (at least for the most common repairs). They offer 5 years and longer warranty contracts with on-site repairs. They offer driv

Exactly. ARM Windows has a feature like Rosetta which allows you to run x86 binaries on ARM (32 Bit and 64 Bit). This is mandatory because almost no one makes software for ARM Windows. Nowadays it‘s pretty good. I was surprised how good it

I liked Google Play Music when it first came out. But development was basically stopped and they replaced it with the crappy YT Music App. Unless they majorly change YouTube music I'll stay with Spotify.

x86 software runs fine on Windows for ARM nowadays. I've been using it on Parallels for the last year and it has been working great (I don't do any high performance stuff on Windows though).

Yeah I never argued that they don’t shred some of the devices. They probably refurbish part of the returns, take parts they need and shred the rest. This is also what’s written on the agreement in the screenshot of this article but they don

It's not about the thieves intent. It's about the person that ends up with a stolen or recycled device that wasn't properly wiped and now has a bunch of sensitive data on the hard drive (you can find tons of stories like that

If you don’t want to sharpen knives yourself you can always bring them to a knife sharpener like cooks do. It‘s like 10 - 20 bucks a knife and they will feel like new. You should also have a honing steel and use it before using your knives.

If you think Apple sucks look at signing binaries on Windows. If you don‘t use the Microsoft App Store it‘s much more expensive and annoying. It basically requires you to be incorporated and hire a notary so you‘re probably spending $ 1000

No this does the same as going into system settings and approve the binary after trying to open it the first time. This requires elevated privileges. After that you can run the app as a user.

Why not? You can have rules about what is appropriate in schools without banning websites. This of course requires an open dialogue with the students. Banning is definitely easier if you don’t care about banning too much.
