My suggestion would be to be completely up front in what you're willing to pay, even going so far as to add it to the job description. If that means you have salary 'bands' dependent on what region of the US an applicant is

So sorry I missed this thread when it was hot. If you know you're not going to pay SF (or even US) sized salaries, why waste everybody's time with multiple interviews then? State up front "We're only willing to pay $80k

That's a fair criticism. I know https://grove.io/ does great work in making 'real IRC' available to the masses, but it's still hosted. It would be nice if they would release their web-client as open so

Run an IRC server, configure a hubot. Yes, 'cloud'-based chat is pretty, but it's a new coat of paint over something that's been around for decades (IRC). For a company less than several thousand people, running your o

Jumpin' Jehosephat, people. 'Working Remotely' is a thing in 2015, you know. Just as much (if not better) moolah, plus you can hang your hat anywhere you have a decent internet connection.

I'm speaking from complete ignorance here, but why couldn't the airline industry standardize a bit more? It seems that a pilot has to have special high-intensity training on each individual aircraft model, whereas I can jump in p

Criminals, for the most part, are dumb. The Marshalls still got a 50%-ish response rate, and cut their capture-cost down to 10%. Not bad for a first-time novel approach.
