It wasn’t long ago that Intel internship was the gold standard. They launched a lot of careers. We should cherish Intel for their golden years.

There’s no evidence to suggest that a system of self-driving vehicles are safer. The solution won’t come from the US because there are way too many red tapes. It’s coming from a smaller country perhaps Japan/Korea.

US healthcare system is run by mobs. That’s my conclusion after working in the industry for a decade.

Wish car manufacturers simply design a place for an ipad and Apple integrates Carplay with it. That’d be my ideal setup. I rather not pay $5,000 (implied) for some infotainment system that will be outdated in two years.

Agree 100%. Microsoft would actually make the product a lot better and add useful AI elements to it. I just don’t trust Adobe.

As someone who enjoyed using Figma, this is an excellent news. However, I am afraid they will sell to someone else. Namely, Microsoft.

It’s not that they don’t understand the problem. It’s just that there’s a massive land grab right now and no one wants to waste resources reinventing the wheels (of parallel computing) which is actually a lot harder than people make it out

Intel has not done anything in the past ten years. They wasted billions on barely functional GPUs. They sat on CPU monopoly and slowed innovations while churning out profit. At least Nvidia built something to facilitate advances in AI. They

I agree with you. I used to stock up gold Rolexes as investment but sold them when their value peaked during the pandemic. For collection purposes? Rolexes are duds.

Grand Seikos are some of the best mechanical watches. Their quartz line is also exceptional. Very underrated and much prefer them over overpriced Rolex.

NYU is run like a business and for-profit. Undergraduate is mediocre at best for underperforming students.

This is very true. NYU and Columbia should not be treated as not-for-profit because they’re not. And they also take money from sovereign and let them influence research and curriculum. They do not deliver the value even remotely commensurat

My local Chinese restaurant stop doing their lunch and Sunday buffets during COVID. I asked the owner whether she would bring it back after the pandemic and she basically told me she makes 3-4x the profit off of take outs alone. And she’d c

I’ve no need to upgrade from M1. Apple really needs to push out their own discrete GPUs to upsell which will eventually happen if they’re serious about AR/VR.

Did Nvidia power it or are they stifling it behind its monopoly. Tricky question to answer.

Ultimately, the openness that we all wish for must come from _underlying_ data. The know-how and “secret sauce” were never going to be open. And it’s not as profound as we think it is inside that black box. So who holds all the data in clos

OpenAI is basically in the bag for MSFT. While we enjoyed reading and speculating about the drama this weekend, Microsoft managed to eat the whole thing without anyone complaining. Meanwhile, Google still has nothing. Heck, even Facebook&#x

There’s something massive brewing here that involves Microsoft. And it stinks. One thing is for certain, Google is clearly a major loser here. They completely blew the lead in AI.

Katago (and Leela) and “blue dot” is changing human vs human games too. Interestingly enough, I will say this about Katago: you can consistently beat it with +6 handicap. I don’t think you can say that about pro players.

What are you trying to argue? I am simply stating that speed of light is faster than rolling shutter speed. You’re trying to make a point about some edge case scenario that doesn’t apply to 99.999999% of use case for photography and videogr

It’s about time Sony threw in a PCIe5/6 slot on these cameras. Ability to simply insert an internal 2-4TB drive would be very welcome. These CFE cards are ridiculously expensive for what they do.

It’s not a “very SLIGHT improvement” as you write. It’s VERY SIGNIFICANT. Even the Nikon Z9 has roughly 4ms rolling shutter speed. Light travels faster than you imply here. A lot faster.
