Hey guys, your How-Tos page has some problems: - Window: points to FritzBox howto - OS X: 404 - Linux: 404 You may want to run linkchecker ( http://wummel.github.io/linkchecker/ ) next time :)

I have a MikroTik router ( http://www.mikrotik.com/ ) and it's amazing. They expose configuration knobs through three almost-equal interfaces: a custom shell over SSH, a web interface and a Windows application. That thin

In my opinion the fact that there were two competing standard libraries (Tango and Phobos) certainly brought confusion and needlessly fragmented the community. IIRC, at the beginning the whole thing was not being developed in the open and t

Nimrod looks quite interesting. Not so long ago I was discussing with a colleague how much I long for a statically typed Python with macros, sum types, optional garbage collection/ref-counting etc. Nimrod seems pretty close to that ide

I'm eagerly awaiting Rust 1.0 to play with it. These days I'm dabbling with Go and while the toolchain is fantastic and the standard library is fairly comprehensive, I find the language itself to be "meh". Rust-the-langu

I wonder how I would have felt had I bought Aperture a couple of weeks ago. Sure, 69€ isn't much, but knowing that those were basically thrown away would have been bad nonetheless. Thankfully, I resisted the urge.

Off-line applications. We are developing a cross platform mobile application which has to run locally on user's tablets. Reaching out to a CDN to fetch dependencies is out of the question. We are basically using HTML5 in place of Qt5 h

"microG"? The Greek letter Mu is the SI prefix for "micro". μTorrent seems to do fine with the Mu, even though most people write it as "uTorrent" and spell it as such.

I wish I had this in my tool belt a few months ago when we began working on our web application. The core of our project can be reduced to something like web-starter-kit but we had to get there with many, many hours of hard-earned knowledge

In my experience, trying to install OS X on a laptop is an exercise in frustration. I did it with Snow Leopard on a Dell Inspiron-1525, almost identical to a polycarbonate white MacBook of that time and one of the easiest machines to tink

I've had only one kernel panic so far on my late 2013 rMBP 13. At least that's what I found in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports, and I've been through the 10.9.3 betas as well. On the other hand I experienced ra

For us, that would be the license. BSD is far more palatable than GPL (LGPL would be fine) when we have to embed a PDF viewer in a client's project.

I have the first-gen XPS 13 with 1366x768 internal display. No problems at all in a multi monitor setup. I have a Dell S2409W, 1920x1080 at home and a NEC 1920x1200 at work.
