While Cortex-Ms are surprisingly powerful compared to the microcontrollers of yesteryear, they're still targeting the same segment. They are not comparable (in terms of cost, power consumption, performance...) to the ARM in your smartp

Rich Hickey literally bet his retirement savings on making Clojure, and owns all the IP. It seems unlikely he's just going to let them smother it.

Nubank already ships software, Cognitect is already a healthy consultancy, no particular reason to kill either one. Surely we can agree that banks also care about good UX? Nubank in particular is known for it. (I appreciate that you may not

IIUC, the SQLite database is just an index, and can be rebuilt from the underlying data which makes this approach possible. Is that right?

Does anyone have any research or experience with using "personal" systems like these as a team? I've always seen them described as having a single user, but many of the links seem like they'd be just as powerful for a (m

I've used org-noter to annotate PDFs in line, so I'd expect org-roam + links wouldn't hurt. Org will display images inline. I don't have a great answer for links into Excel. Do you need the data to "come back out&qu

I'd be particularly interested if anyone has tried both org-roam and zetteldeft and can compare the two.

Generally speaking locally installed certs have been exempted from most of the requirements levied on public certificates.

▲

What does that have to do with certificate lifespan? Authorities go after your domain, not (typically) the CA. Longer certs don't help.

I genuinely believe that in 2020 the myriad of ways of getting automated TLS is easier than logging into a website and uploading a CSR and then placing that certificate somewhere.

If only we had NameConstraints: we could have a CA limited to *.clientdevices.manufacturer.com, installed in everyone's trust root.

That works, but you can't get public certs for it, because you can't prove you own that domain (indeed, you don't :))

You can, but that wouldn't quite work for the prosumer router manufacturer case the OP mentioned: LE would revoke the cert once you distributed it.

Sage is wonderful. It has a huge number of uses but I mostly use it for cryptography. Sage has the best (certainly open source) support I know of for a myriad of things like group theory and elliptic curves. Here's a short example for

Hm, I use Spacemacs particularly because of the easy config. That said, you're right: you should just be able to use vim, and historically CIDER has been the dominant (most polished) environment. At Clojurists Together Foundation, we&#

Nit: CPython, not Cython. Cython is a whole different thing that leverages CPython to compile Python programs to C, as well as compile Cython-the-language, effectively annotated Python, to faster C. CPython comes with its own VM: are you sa
