excluding cost (i recognize that’s a big con), is a traditional glucose meter really better? You have to plan/remember to take your readings. SUPER awkward if on the go with friends for example. I’m also not really seeing the big deal

you forget who most of their flyers are. Frequent travelers for business. These customers almost always have just a carry on bag or small luggage, which fits in the cabin. This trend may be changing post-covid (still remains to be seen).
