“compose thoughtfully” != layman terminology Lawyers thoughtfully write laws that other lawyers understand. I’m not sure why that’s confusing.

You’re very confused i think. Adding more people to a project doesn’t improve throughout - past a certain point. Communication and coordination overhead (between humans) is the limiting factor. This has been well known in the industry for d

laughed at for having benefits that are similar to the minimum in Europe while _also_ earning 3x? That means I can retire at 50ish if i am even a little bit frugal and financially savvy. Yes i’ve run the numbers and that’s possible even in

understood. my point is it’s still pretty good by international standards, and if it’s 3x the salary, it’s not a “no brainer” like you claim. It depends on what your goals are. That’s all i’m pointing out. I agree that the U.S. really lags

They could at least allow hiring teams to send out a feedback email that highlights what the candidate did WELL, at a high level. This way the candidate gets some meaningful signal, while the company avoids the legal gray area of admitting

I don’t think you fully understood their argument. The problem is not that other manufacturers offer choices – the problem is that for a typical consumer it’s IMPOSSIBLE to really understand which computer in the lineup is appropriate for t

As a soon to be father, all i can say is don’t do this to yourself man! Remember to give yourself grace and kindness. You made what you thought was the best decision at that time. Maybe it was sub-optimal, but don’t try to min-max life. The

ya’ll are talking about 2 separate extremes. Of course each extreme has its own set of cons. Hardly surprising. At the end of the day it’s a moot point. You can’t pick when you find love and a suitable partner. :)

but as someone in my 30s, it’s kind of true…looking back. I can only speak as a man. I spent my late teens thinking with my penis instead of my brain. Things worked out well for me by pure luck. Most teens have no real experience with “real

What if i told you some big tech jobs let you earn $300k+ a year, while take 4 weeks+ time off, and working 40hrs a week? My first SWE job was at an older fortune 500 company where tech was not its main focus. You started with 14 days of va

As I said I don’t work for an AI company and have zero skin in the game. Idk who you’re yelling at to be honest. I guess you’re fired up and emotional. If your goal is to convince others, communicating with an “outrage” tone is unlikely to

If you’re mentally ill enough that your cause of death is “LLM suicide”, then clearly you need a LOT of help. I’m not saying it to be a jerk, i’m merely pointing out that there is a reason this is “news”. It’s unusual. Did his family/f

I can relate. I actually used to be jealous of the ladies because they always have a convenient purse to put things in. These days I wear a light weight cross-body “sling” bag, and i’m happy as a peach. Easy way to bring my phone, sunglasse

the developer needs to write code to detect the current profile. Most app’s don’t do this, and they explicitly ask a 2nd time. Not apple’s fault. There are some apps that get this right. Infuse recently added support for this.

presumably being a parent is different from being a your child’s friend. There is overlap, but yes, sometimes being a good parent requires “laying down the law”. With that being said, i think explaining _in detail_ why you’re laying down ce
