No, unfortunately (or fortunately?) there isn't. There will likely be a webcast stream available on Apple's site later today - usually a couple of hours after the event ends.

Apple's guidance for Q1'10 was $11.3b-$11.6 which as EPS translates to about $1.74. Based on this, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple deliver actual results close to Q1 in this next off-holiday-season quarter, which would be both impressive a

I think that you are using this as a convenient cop out. For two reasons. First, hardware (i.e. GPU) acceleration makes a significant difference only when decoding h.264. For h.263 and On2 V6 you shouldn't need hardware acceleration. GPU ac

The Quicktime C APIs have been written nearly 20 years ago for a different OS. The primary goals back then have been performance and economy, not abstraction and clarity.

I don't think Adobe have given any explanation. Neither have they given any sign that they are working on fixing the performance and stability issues. It seems to me that Adobe's position can be summed up like this - "That's not a priority

Well, cut them some slack - the article is from about 9 months after the merger with NeXT, when Steve Jobs was still just interim CEO, and more than a year before the release of the original iMac.

Which is surprising given the fact that Rubinstein is not the MBA, parachuted in from some other corporation, type of CEO. He is a technical person, probably more of a technical manager than, say, a hands-on circuit designer, but nonetheles

You seem to imply that if the situation was reversed, if someone had ripped off Microsoft's code and when caught they stopped the service and apologized, Microsoft wouldn't sue them up the wazoo. How realistic do you think is such statement

So Plurk should roll over and forget anything happened just because Microsoft said they are very sorry? You see such benevolence from big corporations in the same situation almost never. Why should Plurk do any differently? As for Microsoft

Hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to poke fun of Gruber now, but back in 2002 Macs, "beefy" two-processor desktop machines, were barely running OS X. I mean, the new Mac OS X mentioned in the post was Jaguar. Do you remember the awesome speed o

This kind of stupid fruitless horseplay does not in any way contribute to the emergence of "some good apple contenders". What is needed is companies who are willing to put the effort to figure out what would make their customers satisfied a

For one, Adobe's tools are much less important for Apple than they used to be. We are far from the days when the most significant market for Macs was desktop publishing and graphic design. Apple were very smart to diversify - on the pro sid

In other words Microsoft kept crap that could have been refactored or implemented in a better way altogether, for the sole purpose of saving the likes of Adobe the "effort" to have to fix their dirty hacks. Given this helpful Microsoft atti
