Dumb question -- but what exactly is an audio programming language? Google seems to be failing me. I can make some guesses by looking at the example in OPs link. But what is the primary goal of an audio programming language? Who's usin

This math feels off. It’s hard to imagine employee #20 making “only $1m” when there are engineers at Lyft getting $1m+ equity packages as offers today. Maybe their initial grant would be worth that much but for sure there would be a large n

AirBnB did this at least 3-4 years ago? If you watched the network traffic their HTTP headers included the email address for an engineering manager there. I stumbled on this while debugging something I wanted to file a bug report for. I did

Definitely agree. I remember a long time ago Facebook profile pictures used to be private. And then one day without notice they became public. For some reason, I can't find any news articles about when this happened. Maybe I'm cra

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. Whether or not you agree with the conclusions, there are very real concerns about the externalities of self gene-editing.

I've noticed in SF at least Cruise seems to have removed branding from their cars (or I believe they are their cars). I'm curious what that implies -- either about the sentiment of self driving cars or future branding partnerships

I have to say, Spotify recommendations is one of their biggest weaknesses. Discover weekly was just bad and most of the discover page seems to be podcasts and non music content. Just may single data point, but after 2 years as a subscriber

But wouldn't you expect it to work the other way around? Say, if I search for "Detroit, MI" it would expand the search query to the surrounding area. But this takes "Dearborn, MI" expands the search query and gives

I’m not sure I understand how this is a bribe. I think of a bribe as an individual personally taking a cut or kick back to influence the decisions of an organization. Two organizations agreeing to buy from each other exclusively for some pe

As a home buyer, why is it a negative? It seems like it would represent such a small % of the purchase price and could be easily included in the negotiation as needing to be removed by the owner before you move in.

I lived in Downtown Detroit for a two years. Unless things have changed since 2011, there aren't many streets outside of a narrow strip of Mid Town where the city actually plows the streets. I'm curious how examples of government

Matt Levine of Bloomberg has a newsletter called Money Stuff that talks about this concern a lot. There are certainly many serious people who take are worried that too much index based investing will / is leading to inefficiencies.
