This attitude is incredibly american. I'd rather my taxes went to someone trying to build a business than someone that "tries" to get a job only to get fired after a month every time.

To be fair, this is 10 times as efficient as plants. Fwiw, it took me to the third sentence.

Heh, thats my same remark when someone tries to describe the point of an ORM to me. Further to that point, if you ignore the ORM issue there really isn't much going for this Andl thing. I'm hesitant to dump too much on it as I don

What makes you think software that produces and rolls out configuration files is something complicated? I don't doubt that Google's infrastructure is as complicated and nuanced as it can get. Configuration software just simply isn

First bug: In a failure case, it should remove the failing config, not all of them. Pretty hard thing to miss if you test for it with any level of basic unit test or similar. Second bug: canary failure should prevent further propogation of

This wasn't an edge case. It was two bugs in two sections of code both designed to recover from a serious problem. It sounds like both sections of code were not tested properly at the very least. Sounds to me like someone just didn

It doesn't matter. Once is all it takes, from that point forward you can't fully trust anything they say about their privacy / security. The only real questions are: is this an april fools? And does it matter?

Nothing. I think ads are an awful solution to the problem. I don't know what the better solution is but there have already been attempts made with flatr and similar. In my opinion everyone should run adblock and the industry should mov

I'm not sure of what specific letters caused me issue while reading when I was young. I think it was (and is) more of a general sense, I read pretty damn slow. What I had huge problems with was writing the letters g, d, y, and u. u

I think what has changed is that now there is less work, not that there is none, what the article was trying to point out, and what I'm seeing in all these comments if you read through the lines is that a lot of the work has been moved

Yea, anecdotally there is more work than ever, especially now that everyone is online, and the selling everyone on "the internet" is from what I can tell is over.

It doesn't have internet. You might be able to compile the js down to a single copy paste into a file then load that in ie. I'm going to guess it won't work in IE from 1998 though.

Not sure about the states but most places require aircraft / boats to have locator beacons (bigger versions of PLB's.) A handheld 406 plb like the ocean signal "rescueME" plb is essentially the same thing afaik.

It isn't a prejudice if you don't want to support a company with such a history. Azure could be the best cloud host for all I care, I still wouldn't use them. In any case, I have no issue with listing them as an option, not

It's a managed account. The 2 fields workflow doesn't feel too clunky, but the interface certainly is, and the speed, oh dear lord, the speed. Its just sooo slow.

I'm still going to blame Jira/Atlassian for making that workflow possible. My work flow is exactly the same as yours, yet it still feels clunky, and is quite correctly, a total dog. Much like, you know, going to the DMV.
