Its just a scheduling thing, line up all your interviews into a single week. Similarly, when they start coming back, push them out into the week following so you have room for the slow responses to catch up. You can reasonably fit in 5-6 in

I'm a big fan of standardjs. Beats prettier and the rest. Takes more of a go fmt approach. While debating myself on whether to learn rust or go next I fell into clojure. I'll probably pick go up next and then rust.

I still use PHP a lot. PHP's problems are largely user driven. What drove you away in 2004 is likely still there. The community is still full of people who have no idea. Laravel is still king. Noun driven OO is still perceived as a goo

That's kind of an argument for why you don't need an IDE..

Your buying Apple. Price as an argument is long gone. This whole thread is really asinine. Wireless charging is a seamless, elegant solution to a problem. It is not the only solution. It is not a perfect solution. It is not the cheapest sol

So all you've really said is that this hypocrisy has been around since the 1930s. Not putting inedible stuff in candy does make sense to me in the general case. But frankly, so does basic gun control so what the fuck do I know. I would

I like how the USA is willing to ban something so silly to protect children but gun control is offlimits. Like what.

It's ok, a lot of us Australians work for the major USA tech companies anyway. What should be more concerning is that your govt uses our govt to spy on you. You didn't really think it was Australia that wants your secrets did you?

How is this different from what the web archive does?

If that is copyright infringement then so is Google Chrome. Outline is a browser in a browser. If it were accessing unauthorised content in a shady way I would say they have a leg to stand on, but serving up content to Google different from

Usually this forum is full of people praising Airbnb/uber for ignoring regulation. Now it seems like we might need that regulation for a reason. Your post just happened to include both sides of that quite comically.

I thought Airbnb was supposed to cover the cost of your alternative accommodation in this scenario as well? If airbnb isn't giving you a full refund without removing a negative review just issue a charge back. No way they will fight it

Do you think it is feasible to run the entire stack on closure script? JVM just irks me the wrong way. Probably less than electron / nodejs does but if I'm stuck with one set of primitives and externs (npm) I'd rather use the

Curious about why they do this, is it for memory management (gc avoidance) or is it for something like avoiding optimisation tradeoffs, or is it just a mixof concerns?

Why should you be concerned about vendor lock in? I haven't heard a convincing argument why vendor lock in is a problem regarding the cloud. It can be a problem, but all solutions result in you avoiding the things you went there for in

Yea, I find this take on my post odd. I am the first person to understand developers are far from perfect, my self included. But it's just code, you can refactor and learn from mistakes. The thing I don't buy is that this stuff is

Far from it. I am saying you don't need a debugger in the scenario above because the only time you need it in that case is if your inputs can't be trusted. If you control the domain, the only way you can't trust your input is

Agree wholeheartedly, I have no issue with typescript or typesafe languages. I actually enjoy them a lot for other reasons, being able to guarantee type is a nice feeling. But it doesn't guarantee correctness. And I think that is the p

Why are you giving your functions uncertain data? The first point your code sees uncertain data is the point that it needs to clarify what it has. The only way you get the errors you're talking about is if you ignore the above practice
