I own .IO domain and I was able to set it as gccTLD in Google Webmasters Tool for at least last 6 months (but not when I registered it more than 2 years ago). Not to mention my .io domain ranks quite well for my keywords across all national

I'm surprised nobody has pointed out that this is not an official announcement from Google. It is merely an updated KB page. Google is treating .io as gccTLD for at least 6 months.

This is no longer true. I have .IO domain for more than 2 years. 2 years ago, I remember the country for domain on Google Webmaster Tools has been "locked" to Indian Ocean Territory. But at least for last 6 months, I'm now able to change it

I guess Dropbox is not going to be too happy about their key supplier competing with them and doing it at 50% cost.

This is huge. Never heard of Asm.js until now but this is the first time I'm really excited about Javascript. I feel like dropping everything right now and start playing with this.

but that would be another system to maintain. I'm happy to outsource this to MixPanel or some other company. My needs are pretty generic. I appreciate your response though.

MixPanel can do this and they have a free plan. I custom-built my own cohort reports but as number of users grow in my own app, I'm planning to replace it with MixPanel. You don't really want to put stress on your own database servers which

So we have established that NBN Corp will be the same as Telstra Wholesale. The only difference will be that NBN Corp will be owned by government rather than being a public listed company (the question is for how long) Exchanges in some are

Could you please explain how NBN will pay for itself? Not to mention, NBN Corp. will not be any different monopoly from Telstra Wholesale. And regarding speeds, how is NBN going to solve that? Australia doesn't even have enough internationa

DynamoDB is very constrained when it comes to features which means 100% compatible alternative can be easily developed on top of other database. So the lock-in is not really a problem.

I don't find these restrictions limiting at all. I barely ever need more than 1 kB per object. If I need to store more than a few kB, I will put it in S3 and store in DynamoDB just pointer to it. Why would I store unstructured blobs in Dyna

I remember when I installed trial version of FogBugz many many years ago. Not to use it, but just to see what ideas I can take away from it. I was shocked at how bad the software actually was in so many aspects. I was shocked because it was

Same thoughts here. My parents are simple people. If I would tell them I had less sign-ups this week than last week, they would be pretty devastated. Talking anything more serious is no-go.

I still don't understand how files are "cryptographically safe" on Mega The problem is, somehow they know if two people upload the same file even though this should be impossible if they do bullet proof client-side encryption. This does mak

even 256 bytes block is big enough to make collisions so rare that it's not even worth. not to mention metadata associated with such a small block would be probably more than the size of the block itself.
