You don't have to travel much at all before a laptop is essential. And at that point I'd imagine it's way easier to optimize for mobility, for a vast majority of people - unless they're working entirely in virtual worksp

sentimental value refers to the memories associated with an object, not the object itself. I have had it for 30 years, I have listened to hundreds of CD with it (that I also still own). Thousands of hours. I know what it sounds like. It wa

Just like when they put ads on ad-free paid for cable? I don't think todays generation are more activist than those that came before. They fall far short in fact.

The volume pot went in my 1992 Kenwood amp (18th birthday present). It crackled quite horrendously as they tend to do as they age. I took that amp back and forth to uni each semester carefully boxing it up each time, took it to Germany, bac

I think, for me, there is a parallel with video games. The common denominator is time and emotional investment. I used to read books (voraciously)/play games when I was younger (until lates 20s, getting married), but then I found it ha

This is interesting because (in CA at least) the benefit of residential solar is offsetting the electricity that you use. So use 1 kWh and generate 1 kWh, net cost is zero (Net Metering) But overproduction is paid at NSCR (Net Surplus Com

Brake fluid should be changed before 50k. With regen braking maybe you'll never notice the degradation but the components won't appreciate the ever increasing water content.

I'm curious, how did the haptic feedback that indicates that you've enabled the feature make it unusable? FWIW its replacement is the same in that respect.

It's a fair bit lighter than a Model S which is approx 4500lbs. It'd be interesting to have a breakdown how they did that. Presumably they didn't skip safety systems and amenities!

This is a nice idea. There must be something that does this already but I'm stumped. It seems like something Sony would have tried 30 years ago on a Walkman... one mechanism with multiple cases for different environments.

The man has skills but this past due. Apple devices have become sterile, utilitarian, no passion. Sony set a very high watermark practicality and desirability - subjective of course, but just look at what they've done over the years:
