Why keep two competing languages in your toolbox? I personally do C++ and Python and will pretty much never voluntarily choose another language from their respective niches... Except I'm looking forward to replacing C++ with Rust (any

According to my Firefox, the JPEG file I just tried came from googleusercontent. But you're right, it's not per-user.

Google does the silly separate domain dance GP recommended. I couldn't figure out what is it for, until I read this advice in the previous discussion. Disclaimer: I'm a Google SRE. But never supported anything reachable from the o

Ah, so a 50+ years campaign? Yup, that can work if you can have a government with enough attention span. Edit: don't get me wrong, _not_ doing that for children is evil. But, the results thus far do speak for themselves... And uncle Bo

TBF, I still haven't seen enough to convince me to upgrade my desktop from 4690K (which got an RTX2080 in the meantime). Standing plan is to wait for RTX4090 or AMD's equivalent and change the whole box then.

Yeah, runs contrary to my perception too. Even things that one would reasonably expect to be air-gapped are online these days.

I think you missed an important link here: opening the API is not the same as making a good standard. The latter tends to take years. The former... Well, Google internal APIs often have minor changes every couple weeks. And the standard of

This is amazing, underwhelming and not very surprising, all at the same time. Unsurprising, as it was already known that lucid dreamers can move their eyes... And I think everyone has experienced external stimuli, say an alarm clock, being

I literally never got a result like this. Are you searching for something too niche to actually have quality content on YouTube? Or is your search buble such a sad place? Disclaimer: I work in Google, but nowhere near any of this.

A nice, strong piece. I love the example of people accepting to pay through their teeth to get to the hospital. Makes a nice, clear case for all the research on ethics in ML.

Don't touch if it isn't broken? From what I've seen in other countries, you don't update protocols for this. You introduce better ones and kill the old ones once nobody used them for a while. Which might take longer than

Huh? Well, Reddit is a platform, not a community. A sane usage pattern is to come for a sub, create an account and immediately unsubscribe from all the other subs. I find the communities I participate in not as bad as you describe. But a co
