Indeed, they’ll use E numbers to shorten the chemistry catalogue part of the list. Note the law requires sorting ingredients by weight, so these additives end up clumped together. You’ll end up with half a line instead of half a page.

I'd go with `cerr << request.DebugString() << '...' << response.DebugString();`, preferably with your favourite logger instead of `stdout`. My browser does the equivalent for me just fine, but that required

I’m about to buy a Mac and it will be in the physical store, but for a different reason. In Switzerland if you buy online, you cannot make a return in store. Got a DoA Mac last November. Four people spent a total double digit number of hour

All serious browser vendors offer sync to logged in users. That’s multi-device, cross platform and pretty foolproof. I still prefer Bitwarden because of self-hosting and integrating nicely with the iOS ecosystem. But there’s not much wrong

Your confidence is misplaced. Digital assets rot away soon after their maintenance ceases. Gabe Newell is 61 years old. Who knows what will happen after the BDFL gets tired of all this?

It’s not really about the numbers. My pile of money at retirement would definitely be larger if I moved across the pond. But here my children walk themselves to school from the age of six. I don’t worry about them getting killed by a madman

I don’t think it is, but I’ve seen someone make a browser extension to transparently add query parameters to always exclude some sites. I imagine doing the opposite (for some queries search only this list of sites) is also achievable.

How can you call literally feeding the people “broadly unproductive”? It’s low margin, but you can’t have a society supporting your margins without someone doing the bottom jobs.

Jailing the guard at the gate for not stopping an attack, eh? How about “corporate criminal liability extends to every employee at director and higher pay grades (management and otherwise)”?

Google has thousands of things going for and against it at any point in time. Unless an event is bad enough to wipe out tens of billions at once, there’s no way to quantify. And what can’t be measured can’t be a target.

I think you’re right. I misremembered at the very least that the whole star is the quark gluon plasma. That’s what I get for treating modern physics as a kind of a vaudeville show ;)
