If you're entering it multiple times a day due to using public machines then you really, really should be using two-factor auth as many systems you use may be compromised in one way or another.

We switched to Google Apps at my company. Out of 120 employees, there are still 37 using Outlook. Some of them use Gmail on the web periodically, but most of those 37 are adamant about not switching (even though the Outlook on Gmail experie

From the article - "New York Times food writer Mark Bittman mistook the fake stuff for the real stuff". So it seems like it really does taste like chicken.

There are C#/XNA games on Steam. The developer, Phil Fish, claims it's built specifically for the "console/couch" experience on a Saturday morning (seemingly unaware that many people connect their PCs to televisions and sit on the couch).

There are a lot of devices and software packages that receive AirPlay streams now; for example I stream to XBMC on a Linux machine - works like a charm.

That argument would hold a lot more water if searching for "accidente" with the camp name didn't remove all the pictures of the accident. The pictures of charred human remains only appear when you search for the name itself.

Holy shit. You'd think someone at Google would be evaluating hosting mail in a datacenter outside the US, at least for the accounts in question.

Which law? I'm not American so I'm not familiar with this. But there's certainly plenty of kids on other sites that are used for communications, so what makes Google delete kids' accounts?

Actually from IOS4 and on, you can't get files via USB directly without entering the passcode. The filesystem itself is encrypted (AES256) and unlocked once the passcode is entered on the device. However I believe without a passcode you can

What? Why? What would their motivation be for clinging to IE6 or 7? I can see large corporations with awful, unsupported "enterprise" applications that only work with a specific browser not upgrading but end-users shouldn't care at this poi

That's generally not what most people would consider a freemium/free-to-play title though - I'd just call that a demo. Freemium games generally have a time based element or other similar resource that replenishes slowly, and can be circumve

That article claims a 35% overdiagnosis rate. While high, I wouldn't call that a good chance and wouldn't bet my life on it.

Google phased out support for IE7 across their Apps platform in August. It shouldn't be surprising that other new versions of their products only support the newest and second newest versions of a browser.

No kidding. Clearly they're using IIS, which has the equivalents of mod_rewrite built-in. Why would they keep using such awful URLs? The only other major company still using cruft like that I can think of is IBM. Totally unnecessary.

I would suggest that you pay attention to the prices on Steam during Summer and holiday sales. You can get best selling, triple-A titles for less than five dollars. I think Mass Effect 2 was down to 3 dollars. At the sale prices I would thi
