Why not just create a GraphML, GDF or GEXF file and load it into Gephi[1]? Seems way simpler and that program has all kinds of algorithms that lets you visualize graphs. If you want to show the graph to someone else, stream it or make a we

Does there have to be such a big performance penalty? I remember flash games working really fast on my phone. However, when a bunch of (~100?) circles appeared on the screen, the video started lagging. I wonder if games/animations comp

To me it's not at all "The Last Question", but more like The Matrix, where all human qualities are effectively inferior to those of machines. Being human is not about being nice and living in harmony. It's about struggle

Now what is more human then - human body or that of an android? Of course android body. It doesn't matter that it is not innate because we weren't born with it. What matters is that we have consciously chosen to build it and repla

I cannot comment on Spotify, but I pretty much dislike all Youtube recommendations. I get sometimes different version of the same song again followed by some other song that is also popular but has nothing to do with what I'm listening

In that case, should 50% of men at your current workplace be immediately fired for previous harassment? You are probably assuming it is one or two people doing all the harassment, but what if it's uniformly distributed? Different peop

Precisely. I don't know how it's defined. I know there is a bill called C-16 in Canada. That is if you get the gender of someone wrong 2x, you may be in a world of trouble. Since gender is such a big part of the English language,

How is it irrational? According to the UN, 40-50% of women in Europe experienced unwanted sexual advancement at work[1]. That is, statistically speaking without breaking it down by industry, close to half of women at your workplace are gett

As dumb as it is, it's also the only reason you are alive. Some people see their main goal in life as to find the best partner they can. Sex is closely related IMO.

Is there another implementation we can compare this with? Kind of crazy to say that this is fast without any comparisons with anything else. So far I've been using suffix trees from here: http://www.daimi.au.dk/~mailun

I had very similar headphones - Sony MDRV6 and I guess I never understood why they are so well regarded. They didn't sound very good on any of the music I listen to - some parts seemed way too quiet, while others were too loud. I am n

Blender Python lib by default is not optimized much. It has nothing to do with Python as a language. Use numpy for matrices. If you have to implement an algo with a hot inner loop, use cython or numba. I've never seen 100x difference
