I had to use debugger on regular basis in Java and C++, but never in Python, because Python programs end up being much simpler. Also, you can simulate large parts of the program in IPython and not only find what the problem/bug is, but

What? how is this better? what all of this is is apt making users say yes to everything such as config changes. I'm totally fine with that. Sure it's an extra line or 2 when automating, but I don't see it as bad.

I agree that it's pretty and the medium really conveys the "cloudy" feeling with the text materializing from whiteness, but I think this is a bad thing for 2 reasons. 1. One of the cores of my cpu is at 100% while viewing the

I like Virgin's https://www.virginamerica.com/ way more than even their beta one. I guess they're going for different demographics.

This is a client-side tool. You do not have to deploy it. Any such tool would have zero dependencies server side. Client-side you can pip install most things in a few seconds.

When you mean shipping, do you mean deploying production apps to the cloud or just downloading/using top-like tools as a user? I thought we were just talking about resource monitoring something. I think deployment is a totally separat

I was replying to "If you consider that Java is on version 8 and C++14 is here, we can see that even old languages have done this in a much more organized way" C++14 and Java have extremely minor breaking changes. I'm not say

Pretty much this. Many times I can't even compile a package from source after trying for for an hour, but the author happens to have a .deb file around and everything works smoothly.

Regarding the first point, I had that happen. Just deleted the lock file and it worked great. I agree on the second point, but what is wrong with ppas?

On Ubuntu it's really easy though. This is why I switched OSes a few years ago. Things are just easier if you use the same platform as other developers.

Yeah, Python has a huge ecosystem of amazing libs. Many are actually C libs with Python bindings, so they're fast. It would be very time consuming to port them to another language.

Any plans to do let people call Nim functions from Python with Python standard objects like strings/dicts/lists as arguments? This would let people write the fast parts in Nim and slow parts in Python.
