TCO is not just for parse trees or AST, but in imperative languages without TCO this is the only place you are "forced" to use recursion. You can transform any loop in you program to recursion if you prefer, which is what the auth

Sample of 1, but the hidden gem near me I would actually consider a "hidden gem" that only people from the area know about, and it's a very good family run business.

99% of releases do NOT fix zero-days. But 100% of releases have a small risk of introducing a backdoored build-script. There's nothing wrong with pinning dependencies and only updating when you know for sure they're fixing a zero-

Yes but "atomic" operations with the DMA engine are accomplished through interrupts (atomic) or memory mapped IO configuration (atomic).

The CPP does allow quite advanced metaprogramming, it's just so obtuse to use and requires insane hacks so almost nobody does. See one of my favorite projects https://github.com/hirrolot/metalang99

The unfortunate reality is that you must write almost all of your drivers from scratch if you want to rust in embedded. There is no OEM driver support, and as you said the open source drivers are all crap and written for arduino-level hobby

This compiler does not support sequential logic, meaning no flip flops/registers.

It's already common to put digital data over XLR in stage environments, like DMX lighting and AES3. Also venues will have an XLR snake but definitely not a TRS jack snake from stage to mixer.

You can also use it in a "SMP" processor. For example I use it on Zynqs which are dual or quad ARMs symmetrical ARM SoCs. Linux or the bare code can be the master or subordinate.

Relatively common in more powerful embedded systems. See for example https://www.openampproject.org/ which is a framework for running multiple cores of Linux, baremtal, or an RTOS together.

If it was a three letter agency, surely they have little motivation to leak it publicly? I feel it would be more strategic for them to keep the information to themselves since presumably no one outside of GFW development knows the exact det

Yes, using 2 or three flip flops in series to prevent metastability is still common practice today. As is using diodes in that configuration for esd protection.

I think the "soul" is coming from the fact that a human has worked, experimented, and tested with their physical senses a specific recipe until it tastes good. There is physical feedback involved. This is something an LLM cannot d

'Go put your shoes on' is just another slightly different example of pseudo-coordination. I'm guessing that is has various levels of acceptance per-dialect (even within the UK) just like 'try and'.

Much of it comes from GDPR law which was passed prior to brexit. After brexit, the UK kept most of the regulation under the "UK GDPR", meaning it does apply in the UK as well.

This functionality is commonly built in to the microcontroller itself. MSP430s, STM32s ATMegas, and many others have real time clock and gpio wakeup functionality, which effectively lets you power off almost the entire die until either a ti

You're lucky with that system of fine capping. I had the same mentality with the very expensive trains here, probably saved upwards of 2-3000£ until I got caught. Problem is they actually prosecute you in the courts for repeat offender

This is not for declaring constexpr variables, it is about how to implement a checker function that verifies an inline expression is constant. Plus some of the examples work back to C99 instead of C23, which I would wager close to zero peop
