Right, if reductions are market based then yes, it would work.

Cool idea, the only problem I can see is how you define a reduction. In the Erlang VM a reduction is kind of a magical unit... and not a reductions are created equal.

5. Clean while you're cooking. Cleaning a big pile of dishes after dinner is not fun!

MVP is about cutting out non critical features, not quality. Without the quality you just end up being slower at iterating and the whole process falls apart.

Really depends on the scale you're at, but sometimes a couple CPU percent can equal saving a bunch of servers. Obviously the rest of the stack (application, db) has to also be fined tuned or else it's just pre-optimization.

I'm no chemist, but couldn't you just add a base to neutralize the phosphoric acid (e.g. calcium carbonate)?

You don't need to commit your unit test... you can run any script from any path. git bisect run my_script arguments

I've played with the UI quickly and couldn't figure out how to actually create a funnel. Yes, I was able to track events, but not relate events to each other (e.g. click on shop + click on buy).

Haven't read the TOS... but there might be an opportunity here to build a "user friendly" backup service on top of Tarsnap. Basically turning Tarsnap into a platform. If I had more free time...

95% of WhatApp's messages don't event hit a disk and are served from memory. It would take big architectural changes to be able to mine them. (info from the erlang factory slides)

Has anyone done research on quality of geo DB? I've personally prefer Maxmind because of the format of the DB, but Netacuity seemed to be giving more up to date results.

Also, looks like you can get very different scores depending on which VM you get... Pushed a second time and jumped to 148 from 119.

I wouldn't recommend httpc to anyone... It's really slow and doesn't scale at all. There's plenty of better alternatives: lhttpc, ibrowse, hackney.

That's not exactly true... in Erlang, any binary with size > 64 bytes will not be copied. Instead a pointer to a shared memory area will be passed.
