I do this for my personal projects. Rust. Axum. Single compiled binary. Even html/js/css is baked into it via RustEmbed. Sqlite + litestream to S2. Cloudflare in front. Works extremely well.

Yes, I too have "less favorite" foods. Carrots being one of them, celery - another. But I try eating them regularly and this definitely helps. And no, I don't mask them to the point of them being completely undetectable. On t

Not really, I am one. I have tried all kinds of "exotic" foods like Swedish Surstromming etc. I can definitely relate to how people eat them and can find some way (of eating it) that it's delicious, like in sandwiches etc. Th

While I see where you are coming from... It's not about your personal autonomy, it's about perception. You can be completely honest and people still perceive you as dishonest. In fact, absolute honesty is often perceived as rudene

Having written a moderately big project in OCaml which I tried porting to F# and later did port to Rust, to me Rust feels much faster to develop than either OCaml or F#, especially once you figure out the "core", adding more featu

I tried F# some years back when I was searching for a language to port my OCaml project in... It felt too much .NET-y and too much MicroSoft-y. And back then .net for linux had just been released and was somewhat unpolished. It seemed that

As someone who uses LLMs to write code every day, I don't see a huge progress since last year, so I'm also not that sure about next year.

You are both wrong, it's the other way around - the free market economics are outside the EU. Here is the EUSSR. Just try producing something in "green" Europe, have a look at the amount of carbon tax you have to pay, then yo

The worst for me so far has been the following: 1. I know that a problem requires a small amount of code, but I also know it's difficult to write (as I am not an expert in this particular subfield) and it will take me a long time, like

Some years ago I migrated from OCaml to Rust, I think it was the right decision.

For this you have to know upfront that it will be a "big job"... In my case, after the second trip to the hardware store, I still thought that it's just a bad luck, instead of a "serious job". Ended up going several

It's not always that easy. In my case we were moving to a new country. It was very hard to find English speaking tradespeople and the ones we did find told us that they can do it in 3 weeks earliest. So I had to either work as a dishwa

This sums quite well my experience of fitting our dishwasher to the new place we moved to last summer. Mine was even worse, as eventually I had to even change the electrical switch as the old one burned down, it was too weak to withstand ou

Even when I am alone, I have "mixed experience levels", for example I can learn something niche, write some algorithm that works in that, then 2 years later I may have forgotten it. Types are essential for me.

The point is that it doesn't matter whether YOU grant access to your contacts. As long as anyone who has you in THEIR contacts decides to just press "share contacts" with any app, you are doxxed and SkyNet is able to identify

I am not going to argue whether that's the case, as I never managed to learn CSS enough to be productive in a convenient (for me) way. Despite of trying many times. Whereas tailwindcss "clicked" right away and gave me the awe

They are cryptic but the learning curve is not that steep. Once you get the idea, it becomes much easier (and quite pleasant for a CSS hater like me). For example px-3 means "padding on the x axis 3 (spacing values)" and gives you

To me it's quite good for Rust as it usually suggests me some (unknown to me) borrow checker API that actually helps me either solve the issue at hand or at least point me in the right direction to figure what is actually wrong with my

I have been suffering of this lately, ironically because I'm venturing into business. I find huge gaps in my ability to rigorously read (and push through) boring (but important) paperwork. Take notes and do the required work afterwards

Do you have a good guide on how to "try doing marketing yourself for a month"? To me this shit is so alien, I can't imagine I'll even scratch the surface in a month.
