Thank you, this is what I've been trying to say. It might be interesting if you can get the linux->darwin kernel and system library translation layer good enough that the binaries in the docker image are the macos programs, NOT qemu

Or maybe you were saying you want the Windows equivalent of this? The ability to make native windows apps from linux with ordinary tools? I don't know what it is, but I thought we've had that for some time now....

I'm very similar. other than you've got about 5 more years on me :D If you're referring to musical instruments, then yeah, that's the only reason I even have a windows 7 VM around. Although increasingly I've been

Yeah, when I got mine working I decided to just go from scratch.... you might even be able to use upstream qemu by now.

Yes, that's what I said. (although in a comment below this one. ;)) A container is much lighter weight than a VM, yes. (and so is a chroot) But the MacOS userspace isn't running on the linux kernel, it's running on darwin.

I'm familiar enough with Docker to know of it as a combination of lxc, cgroups, and probably other things so that I can have 1 machine, 1 kernel, and yet multiple userspaces. These userspaces are not (as i understand it) Securely Isol

Yeah, one has been able to do this for some time now. A few years ago I had a setup where (and I admit much of this was for the aesthetic purity of it, not practical reasons), I used a legally purchased copy of macos, copied it unmodified t

You're absolutely correct. (full stop) Honestly, in my own code I try to avoid lots of little heap allocations (duh), and when writing embedded things I don't have printf or malloc anyway.

Oh, I'm not saying you should test for NULL and then, uh, not care about the result! If you port to some new platform, of course you need to go back and check the docs for new error codes. For instance, I generally abort() on NULL af

I agree with much of what you say, heck, nearly all of it -- but it's not reasonable to expect, or even ask for a _very_ short paid project. I see no reason that a possible employer should pay actual money for some useless task. If

One of the fascinating things about neural embedding such as these is that the individual component dimensions have NO "real" semantic meaning to us humans. It's better to think of them as single points in a higher dimension

Interesting. So, this approach computes a "traditional" neural embedding, in say, R^50, and then "brutally" replaces each of the reals with an integer in Z_2,4,8... I can't quite put my finger on it, but my hunch is
