I have worked remotely in a relatively small town with 70k people. I have lived in areas like Denver and Washington D.C. and I will never go back to the grind and misery of city life. Pros: save money, no traffic, nicer homes and schools, n

After more than a decade of developing on Mac and Linux I am moving back to Windows and continue to be quite happy there. Docker solved most of the problems that plagued Windows as a development machine. Mac hardware is incredibly expensive

Serious but maybe a dumb question. I know only Tesla’s can use the Supercharger network at this time. Is this because other EV cars would be damaged by the power of these Superchargers? Are they designed to be charged at such a high rate? I

This is what I am afraid of. The developers have the best intentions here but it would be difficult to stop a larger problem than it is solving.

I love the concept but how do we protect against spammers? “Want to earn $1000 a month browsing the internet???”

Yeah I feel the same way. I don’t like Trump but Twitter’s justification is weak and their message is pandering to the masses. No sustenance.

Facism requires social acceptance to work and this is more damning than anything. The American people are walking away from people like this, not towards.

I predict this to be the end of an era not the return. The wounded snake is rearing it’s head one last time before finally being lopped off. This is all done in desperation.

Yes I couldn't agree more. I am currently in a leadership role and I feel like I spend most of my time taking bullets for the team. I am not trying to act like a martyr or anything but someone has to go to a bunch of stupid meetings an

It's not really that strange. My first full-time gig as a software engineer threw me into the team lead position at the six month mark as well. I found that we simply work in a field where most people do not want to be in a leadership

I’d like to play the devil’s advocate. The restaurant industry took a big hit this year due to COVID. The motivation is there.

Id like to take a conspiracy stab. Could it possibly be insurance fraud by the restaurant owners? I mean covid hit their industry pretty hard.

Thank you Colin! I think what spurred my comment was that I feel like I have hit a brick wall and just feel exhausted. I am not getting younger, got a wife, two kids and a demanding career as a principal engineer. I want to desperately buil

That’s what I figured. I’m all about banning this nonsense but at least get the nuances right. The Dixiecrat flag was never a CSA flag.

I hate Slack and MS Teams. There are just too many features and the UI for both is clunky. I would love to see IRC used more. Can’t we just bake video chat into that?

Sure, but then a copy cat scammer will pop up in its place. This will be a time and money sink for OP unless he has the coin to keep a lawyer on retainer until the end of time.

I am not sure what point you are making. I think Tracy is just demonstrating that there is some humility to the process that she may have not expected but she wanted women to know that it is equally as stressful for men as it is for women.
