Do you have Firebug for Firefox (press F12 to bring it up) or the Developer Tools (Ctrl-J) for Chrome? They make it trivial to toggle/edit CSS attributes on webpages. In GWAN's case (using Firefox) the rule was: p, h1, h2, h3, h4, ul, ol, l

At home I use a Filco Majestouch (Tenkeyless) with Blue Cherry MX's. I LOVE it. Works with USB and PS/2 (N key rollover with PS/2, but it's rare you'll actually care about it). Built like a rock, I'm pretty sure I could hit a punching bag w

I use to have one but deleted it as well. I realized it wasn't adding any value to my life. Friend status updates? I'd rather get them in person, otherwise it probably isn't actually all that important. I like my privacy and dislike the ide

All too true. Both my work and home computers run Arch. At work, dual monitors on a single ati video card with xinerama was a HUGE pain in the ass. I ended up just running without xinerama and the Driver/Screen/Monitor/Server sections, let

I have them in Sacramento. Fantastic ISP, make sure you can get their Fusion service. You won't regret it.

I don't think the "I don't give a fuck as long as I save $1" mindset is limited to just the domain business. In America, look at the proliferation of Walmart and Winco (just to name a couple). Their service is crap and everything they sell

It's a bit dissapointing to me that they are all focusing on web technologies/development. I know, we're at HN and webapps are popular, but still... Are there any with a different focus? Drivers, firmware, OSS development? (Dislaimer: curre

I honestly can't wait for its death. TV could be more enjoyable given the technologies we have today (watching what we want to watch, and only paying for the content we actually watch).

That is AWESOME! I've always wished for something like that where I live (currently Sacramento, CA USA) and had seriously considered starting something very much like that. Way cool that it has started somewhere already. Kudos! Want to know

Agreed, it's incredibly disappointing. But I've seen it firsthand, so, thank you but I'll be contacting my attorney before continuing to speak.

I too feel it's worthless to simply 'boot up' with those frequencies. The whole point is to do _something_ with all that speed, like benchmarking, gaming, folding performance...

Second for whiteboards. If I must get it into electronic form either take a picture or inkscape.

How would you go about setting one of those young whippersnappers in their place? I honestly think I am beginning to become one at my current job and need a reality check. I am also curious to hear wisdom from someone who has been through i

Wow... weird timing of this post. I spent all day yesterday debugging a daemon written by a consultant in Java 4 years ago. To the few above who asked: Yes, there is code out there (in production!) that followed the same path. Needless to
