This to me is the biggest feature I’d love to see in paid services. It skeeves me out to know that everything I watch or listen to is recorded. That and owning the media.

I agree with you that OP is being overprotective, but its natural that we all draw slightly different lines about what's appropriate when. FWIW, when (spoiler alerts) the little girl gets her feet cut off in red shoes my 8 and 10 year

I agree with the principle that you should tell the user what matters, but theres a tension between that and making it too long. Every word is an opportunity for the reader to stop reading. Once they get a sense you're droning on, they

I had an interaction like this at Labcentral near MIT a few weeks ago. I was talking to this young kid for a minute before I realized he had those glasses on. I asked if those are cameras, he said yes. I asked if he’s recording he said now.

Surprised coming into this that I don't see anyone mentioning vale[0]. I've been using it for ~4 years now and love it. I use grammarly briefly when it came out and liked the idea. Admittedly it has more polish than vale for peopl

Agree it’s a silly nitpick of language. I’ll keep picking. Picturing a frappe and cappuccino gives you a sense for what a Frappuccino _is_. Picturing june and thirteenth/nineteenth only gives you sense for _when_ it is. In only contend

I’m not dying on this hill, I just think the name could be better, but I don’t particularly care. It’s not as though I’ve got a beef with the celebrating the freedom of slaves. I think that’s essential for America to celebrate.

It’s both. The name Juneteenth requires more education than, say, emancipation day or something along those lines. Easy names require less “education” than hard names.

There both portmanteau but Frappuccino combines two things you can envision. A date doesn’t unless the association already existed. Regardless of its history I venture that 95% of the population hadn’t heard the word before 2020, so it’s no

I’m not saying the holiday isn’t valid, I think it’s a great holiday. The name is all I take exception to. Eventually we’ll all know what it is, but that eventually would be sooner with a better name.

Both of those are portmanteau's, giving hints as to their meaning. No such thing with Juneteenth. I agree lack of familiarity isn't because it's "unreal"---we invent words all the time, but I agree with OP that we c

I went to school at Northeastern and so spent plenty of time in that neighborhood. We actually looked at buying in Jamaica Plain because of the price difference. Ultimately we didn't because our kids had grown roots in Brookline and th

I live right next to Boston in a town called Brookline---specifically the region above Rt. 9 called North Brookline. It could be better, but it checks the boxes that make it a wonderful place for families: * Neighborhood schools over 90% of

I love this. I know it's not "open", but it would be great if the MCAD was done in Onshape. For better or worse its the closest thing we in the mechanical world have to a collaborative editor. I'd be delighted to contrib

Since my setup is for personal use I just use a VPN. My home router is running OPNsense and this setup wasn't too bad. I also pay my ISP for a static IP address. https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/wiregu

Agreed. We don’t have much of a car line since it’s a walk-to-school neighborhood (90% walk). Still, k-2 are dismissed to parents. Once 3rd grade hits it’s open. Seems like a fine balance to me.
