For all we know this was always discussed in certain circles. Trump could just be the first one to talk about it publicly.

I love how you think that improbable capture of Canada is a real geopolitical threat, but losing the status of the dominant species apparently isn't. You think wars happened a lot? How many species were dominant before us and where are

That's my setup as well with a hacked version of Retro Music https://github.com/RetroMusicPlayer/RetroMusicPlayer to show lyrics on supported Bluetooth receivers and Android Auto.

What do you mean intent already existed? The whole point is it didn't until instruction tuning.

I don't see how that does not considering that base models never refer to themselves as "I" and most of the modern instruct ones do. I can foresee the objection, that there's still a distinction between an author and a s

Because it is baseless fearmongering. US is not going to invade Greenland or Canada. For these two the ambition is clearly in diplomacy/marketing only.

Yeah, that was actually a good demonstration of a way out of Russian aggression. I wonder if that was one of the goals. Scare Putin to shievers. Bro already spent the first year of the 2022 invasion in a bunker. I'm sure he liked that.

This brought up memory of Hungarian notation. I think now I will try to use it in my PyTorch code to solve the common problem I have with NN code: keeping track of tensor shapes and their meanings. B, T, E = x.size() # batch size, seque

With a 5070 Ti performance that's a weird choice for R&D as well. You won't be able to train models that require anywhere near 100GB VRAM due to slow processing, and 5070 Ti is under $1k

I got ASUS ROG Flow Z13 128G with Ryzen AI 395, and I am able to train nanoGPT with little effort. On Windows (haven't tried Linux), where ROCm was just released recently. See https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=460525

So, I haven't tried it yet, but grayscale was a part of my plan as well. The other part was reduced refresh rate (e.g. 4-8 Hz) to force reading-only. Re: back to baseline. Are you sure you actually have a problem with your screen use?

Huh? I just put something along the lines of: "use Gemini (`gemini <query>`) and Claude (`claude -p <query>`) for design review before trying to implement anything and for code review before reporting task completion"

I didn't mean poor design, I meant literal bugs. Start menu search still fails to find things on my desktop, and done so since Win 11. Thank God for Everything.

I personally blame this on instruction tuning. Base models are in my mind akin to the Solaris Ocean. Wandering thoughts that we aren't really even trying to understand. The tuned models, however, are as if somebody figured out a way to
