The common anecdote is that Google used Angular to make the the Doubleclick advertiser interface, which is just as big if not bigger than the Wordpress admin interface. It turned out to be great, with much less lines of code than what they

I would generally agree with your point. I wouldn't want my company judging me based on photos they find of me on messing around with friends on Facebook. That would be pretty low. However, these are two different situations. It's different

Accusations? There's nothing to be taken on faith in the post. All facts are backed up by proof. There's nothing to "trust". Just stuff to agree/disagree with.

Deeper issues? I respect John and his blog a lot, but this post is a bit of bologna. Kevin Lynch had faith in his product and was defending it when under scrutiny, just as the Adobe CTO should. It wasn't even that obvious that Flash would t

A lot of my non technical friends use Google Groups. Other than a few extra drop downs during set-up, it seems to me that there's literally no functional difference in the two services. I don't know how they can blatantly lie and tell buyer

Well, Danielle isn't really trying to solve problems here. They're not getting her business, and that's that. She's simply calling them out on their Twitter BS, because eventually somebody had to.

I can't explain in terms of Backbone but I'll do my best to clear things up for you anyway. In Angular, you have a magic $scope variable that is available both in your controller function, and in the section of HTML that the controller is b

Can someone explain why something like this is better than a simple to-do list/app? I'm a fan of GTD apps because they're a place I can structure my thoughts of what's next, and see some performance metrics to remind me when I'm slacking.

Are you able to write large applications like this without things getting too messy? I'm interested because I usually write JavaScript in the complete opposite way than you just described (strictly OOP, almost like I'm writing Java). This a

This article should have mentioned node.io ( https://github.com/chriso/node.io ) for completeness. It hasn't been updated in a while and I'm not sure if other frameworks have popped up, but I've had a pleasure using it for some big scraping

I suggest you try it out, I think your lines of code will greatly decrease. The biggest reason I prefer to program in Angular over Backbone is that I simply don't have to write rendering logic code because of data-binding. There's no "rende

What a complete waste of money. It's as if they actually expect the cops to sit down and continuously monitor all 200 cameras all day. Horrible waste of tax money on two fronts. Also, say some cop does happen to see a kid walking out of sch
