I was just about to complain about another thing to learn. Then I saw you can do "$ alias docker=podman". Just want to acknowledge the importance of that work. Making things compatible is both boring and a pain, but it's a do

Here's my issue: If I was a Go noob, I may look at this project and think this is a viable replacement to something like Gin, Martini, or the Gorilla suite. But since I read the source, I know that it's not much more than a ternar

It's not made for "simple JS based apps", it's meant for large complex ones. Sounds like you're using React while you literally never had a use case for it. It doesn't mean it's garbage.

Thanks for the details. Flat files in the cloud, and heavy caching on the client sounds like the most effective way to go about it to me too. I work at a company that collects data like this for the traditional derivatives markets and fwiw

I love Go and respect the philosophy of the language, but I do agree with userbinator that the question of how to achieve that becomes much more interesting and less bike-sheddy when talking about macro readability. I’d also like to point o

I agree with RussianCow, I don't think mutations are in any way harder in GraphQL than they are in REST. IDK what you mean re: state management. That sounds like a client side concern, nothing to do with the protocol used to communicat

While using GraphQL does have some benefits when dealing with a massive amount of users, that's not the reason most people choose to use it. GraphQL is simply a drastically different (and IMO better than REST) model for clients to talk

It looks like the Element.update function is more or less the equivalent of setState in React. So the UI does seem to be declarative (you may want to emphasize this, at first it looked like a jQuery-like library). How does the declarative a

Right, so I guess I'm not understanding your point about why comparing two languages like this is ridiculous. Java has a full blown runtime reflection system (it's "types exist at runtime"). JS doesn't. So Java wins

Does anyone have experience with Elixir as well as Scala/Akka. Afaik, these are the two largest Erlang inspired systems out there. I only have experience with Akka, and I'd love to hear a comparison.
