500kw is nothing, that is 1/3000 of the nuclear power plant electric output.

Good luck trying to get rid of such an amount of heat anyway near your batteries.

All these things people claim in the comments section seem like not very rigorous. Also, any increase in cancer cases has to be corrected for overweight people in the US.

There is also a lot less toxic chemicals around nowadays such as flame retardants, DDT, lead (petrol), asbestos, PCB etc.

I think they completely misstated in the original paper what they did. It was a tensor decomposition of complex of 4x4 matrices up to the factor 0.5. Which is a nice result, but it is not really anything practical for a computer program doi

Torvald claimed: "So that was one of the issues. But one of the issues really was, I knew I needed it to be distributed, but it needed to be really, really stable. And people kind of think that using the SHA-1 hashes was a huge mistake

sha-1 in git was just supposed to catch corruption, it was never intended to be used for security.

Meanwhile, China is outproducing the USA in ships by 1 to 100. Add steel electronic manufacturing, robots, drones, batteries etc. to it and the 'war on terror' actually lost the USA the global dominance

Meanwhile, they outsourced manufacturing to China, which is kind of insane. China builds 100x ships then the US. Add drones, steel, telecommunication, batteries, renewable to it...

The trains probably push a lot of air around. Wonder whether closing off sections with doors would help to push air out at one point and pull it in at others.

Even Kelvin is the wrong model. What we need is temperature, humidity and air speed to interfere anything meaningful. ISO 7730 is even more precise. Any meaningful discussion should use the models from there.

Ok what do you do after 5 darkdays? You will need the grid.

Would be nice, the rate could be grid size battery/PV + cost savings from localized production. Not sure if it is economically feasible then.

magnitude less power from PV than in the summer magnitude more power from PV than in the winter That is a tautology.

Not so easy to reduce the grid load all the time, needs a big battery for every night and for multiple dark days you still need the grid a lot.
