The performance improvements along with the support policy should hopefully encourage many sites to move to PHP 7 within a year; PHP 5.6 will be unsupported in 8 months (though it will receive security fixes for another year).

The performance improvements in this release will hopefully encourage people to upgrade, even if the new features don't. Common PHP applications run 70%-100% faster on PHP 7 than they did on PHP 5.6, comparable with or better than HHVM

For anyone interested the block that has been sold is 51.174.0.0/15. The remainder of 51.0.0.0/8 still belongs to the Department of Work and Pensions though none of it is publically routable.

Unfortunately this isn't possible on newer keyboards, as Ctrl and Fn have different sized keycaps.

In some models, you can swap Ctrl and Fn in the BIOS. I find it much easier to hit a Ctrl-Shift combo with Ctrl on the far left.

Create a config file in ~/.config/redshift.conf with the manual parameters you use, and redshift-gtk should work. Sample config is at http://jonls.dk/2010/10/redshift-1-6-released/ - I only need to set lat and lon to get it to run, though
