I got one, at 1:01pm. I explicitly enabled the two "test" options in Emergency alerts on my Android phone beforehand, however I don't know if that is why I saw it.

You can write custom VCL snippets directly in the Fastly control panel. Migrating all existing customer VCL to another language would be an enormous task.

Amazon CloudSearch hasn't had any serious updates in 6 years [1]. It is Apache Solr behind the scenes, but with a proprietary API on top. I suspect everyone with serious search requirements has moved to Elasticsearch or another product

Jenkins works reasonably well as a job scheduler. The UI is functional if not pretty, it is fairly easy to configure and use even for a large number of jobs, and the plugin ecosystem allows you to extend it in many ways without writing any

I think that would be difficult to calculate accurately. We can collect user-agent statistics from browsers but mail clients don't have an equivalent when reading mail.

Yes, this. Quite often I start writing out complex pipelines using head/tail to test with a small dataset and then switch it out for cat when I am done to run it on the full thing. And it's often not worth refactoring these things
