Reminds me of Ron Conway's Google receipt investment story. Signing on a dollar bill is interesting. Small shops/cafes frame the first dollar bill they earned. Similarly, founders can frame the first 'dollar' investment.

In general, I think avoiding either My or Your is better. However, there could be situations in the UI that you may want to separate My Stuff vs Other's Stuff. E.g. a shared folder with a header "My Files" vs "Others". In this case, I think

I never knew that stores cannot charge more. I would assume more stores will already set the price with credit card charges in mind. Some restaurants give you 5% discount for paying in cash.

No wonder I was confused. I wonder whether they are really buying the team or the community. It seems that there are less activities going on at Forrst these days.

Looking forward to Steven Sinofsky's new blog. "Learning by Shipping" - very true. Love the title.

I agree that with the grid view, you have no idea where to look at. The calendar view also stood out.

If Apple allows in-app purchases freely, what may happen is that every app is a free app, and the first screen is a screen asking you to buy the paid app. I have already experience a similar experience in some apps like NYT where basically

Interesting comparison but failed at making a substantial argument. - Library has limited copies. If the library has only 10 copies, only 10 people have access to it. On Pirate Bay, 1 million people can instantly download and have access t

Having 2 passwords does not really solve the problem. I understand where the writer is coming from, but it is a gray area to define what is considered "high risk" vs "low risk". Using two factor authentication for selected task seems to mak

That's the point of the list! It is really hard to predict now. We will know who will make it to the list in a couple of years.
