Very nice indeed. I did a basic hack on a sorting visualisation a while ago [0] and have felt for a long time there is a lot more possible with algorithm visualisation in general than has been done in the past. Hopefully we see lots more aw

I think an underrated non-standard approach to programming is graphical programming. Though this approach doesn't seem to received significant uptake amongst professional programmers, there is an application called max [0] that is popu

We called cabs and got no response at all, not even a 45 min wait - I mean sure this could be a thing that is just a major difference between the UK + US, and of course different because of the heavy loading of SxSW, but the point is I don&

We (me + colleague) are at SxSW now (over from the UK) - this is quite amazing given the utter lack of cabs if you're anywhere resembling out-of-downtown. Thankfully we have through an amazing friend of a friend procured the services o

I don't think being able to catch a cab, at all , is a 'big-city amenity'. Also keep in mind Austin is one of the biggest growing cities in the entire US. etc. I could keep on arguing the point, but I nuked my previous accou

Don't bags that belong to passengers who don't embark get taken off the plane as a standard security measure?

Where I work we use tabs; has carried over to my personal projects some. Personally I prefer spaces ;-)

Insert[ion] sort is already in there, heap sort is definitely high on the list!

Damn, I'm really sorry about that - I didn't think of that issue - perhaps a mod could add a warning of some kind?

I really need to jump back into the code, not looked at it for a while and take a look at improving how 'fairly' it benchmarks the algorithms. That's an interesting suggestion, will experiment with it. Thanks for your kind co

Yeah, I think I need to review this code + make it 'fairer' or at least somewhat smoother. The positive reaction here has motivated me to hack on this project again!

Yeah, I am kidding - don't worry I won't, I can imagine that getting pretty irritating :P I did this as a quick hack on a whim about a year ago (was a visualisation I wanted to see but couldn't find one quite like this), I am

Thanks :D This was just a quick hack a year or so ago, am open to enhancing it though - feel free to post any suggestions over at https://github.com/lorenzo-stoakes/Rainbow-Sort/issues :)

Try turning down the block size (the value that defaults to 20), that will make it far slower - try 5. I know that isn't too obvious, but this was something of a quick hack :)

Thanks :) Full source code is available at https://github.com/lorenzo-stoakes/Rainbow-Sort , no guarantees as to quality... all (4 :P) algorithms are there.
