O(n/2) = O(n), so you're right. However... f(n) being O(n) means: there's a N and an x such that, for all n > x, N*n > f(n). By this definition, O(n/2) is the same as O(n) is the same as O(n/42). You just choose a different N. But i

I can guess from where this sort of, seeing the market as a moralistic play, comes from. Macroeconomics can, via some stretching of the perfect-markets hypothesis, be transformed into this almost-Calvinist cosmology, where the virtuous labo

Maybe I'm that ahead of the curve, but I understood inmediately what an algorithm that "takes a Bernoulli sequence with p != 1/2 and outputs another B. seq. with p = 1/2" is. Or perhaps the author chose a wrong example. If anything, it show

Complaining that most people find interesting something that you see as banal, and demanding they protest what you deem significant is not having a contrarian opinion. It's just being innapropiate to this conversation. Posting about the M

Nope, it's the opposite, in fact. You confuse devaluation with depreciation. What should really happen is that Germany's currency should devaluate (via inflation). I think of it as this: GIPS have massive debts in "German"-Euros. They als

So. You recognize the laws are stupid. Still, this article doesn't talk about what you think it's important, so let's blame the victim for getting caught. Hmm. Yeah, that was callous, and a bit pointless.

Well, you're just moving the goalposts there. Intel and NVidia still quite dominate AMD in the desktop/laptop. By the way, ARM couldn't touch Intel if they wanted. ARM's market is not just another league, it's not even the same game. Even s
