As the owner of three different recumbents, I don't care about max power output. I care about the relaxed pose. And the low drag in that pose.

In my view it is a clear flaw that the signal to terminate can arrive while the server is still getting new requests. Being able to steer traffic based on your knowledge of the state of the system is one of the reasons why you'd want t

It is entirely understandable that Tesla would wing it without lidar. Once one gets over the assumption that their priority is creating a level 5 system. What Tesla cares about is selling expensive vaporware. If this vaporware depended on a

Nice! Have been using US altgr-intl for a long time. And Eurkey looks more comfortable for my uses. Previously, the layout not being available on stock Windows would have prevented me from considering it. But I don't care about that an

Wow! I went looking at my region and it was so easy to see the river valleys and plains. Before, I only had a rational understanding how downstream will always be lower. This is the first time I intuitively saw where water flows on a map!

Eh, don't feel bad about the inevitable. My conscious self knows well to just count the carbs when I'm too low to behave. At least then I'll know how much insulin to dose when the curve ticks upwards again.

That has been my constant experience in Haskell. When the compiler complaints are gibberish, add types until it makes sense. It leads to this culture where people say that you have to nail down all the types. Which certainly is good advice

Cut it. Citing a principle from old scripture is not proselytizing. Maybe you don't like reading old stories, but some others do. I enjoyed the read and think it's relevant to the discussion. We can choose how to look at the share

I once came in on a project where one dev used "func( arg )" and the other used "func (arg)". They would reformat each other's lines when they changed something, so the diff had a lot of whitespace changes. The two

I don't like the analogy to writing a novel because in a novel you do want suspense, drama, surprises and generally a non-ordinary flow of the story. With source-code, you want none of that. The whole process is geared to remove it. An

It can make sense to combine stoves used for heating with peltier elements. When the heat is used at lower temperature than the combustion, you can get electricity on the exchange. So you run your boiler at 105% normal capacity and extract

I have developed this pet theory that humans have grown fond of fire and will feel secure in its presence. How do they know they're at a fire instead of just basking in the sun? When they are inhaling, I mean smelling, its fresh smoke
