>Yes, that's my projection. Sorry for the ad hominem argument. It just smelled like a rhetorical trick, so I got carried away. Fair enough. There are so many dishonest people arguing on both sides that one begins to expect the worst.

Given that your "selectively picking and choosing data points to spin your argument" was even worse ("a lot of people find..." what a nonsensical peace of spin!), that's pretty rich.

I think this is exactly the kind of nonsensical flame war type post everyone wanted to avoid. Since you seem intent to go down that route I'll just leave you to it. EDIT In response to your edit: >"Science can't have an answer for ever

Guilty as charged. I was trying to throw in a sound byte to illustrate how some things can't be illuminated by science (e.g. "I have good taste", "No, you have bad taste, I have good taste", "Well that's obviously in poor taste", "Taste

No, what I'm saying is that the question "Is there a God?" is both unprovable and unfalsifiable. Science cannot answer every question for us. Philosophy is a better fit for religious questions.

Religion is not a scientific subject, but a philosophical one. You can't prove "taste" either but most people know "bad taste" when they see it.

Exactly. I can't wait until some YC companies start being at the receiving end of this behavior so the insane level of Google worship on this site can finally go away.

That's a pretty strong ad hominem attack. I didn't like Al Franken until he got elected and started doing a lot of things that make sense (e.g. his proposed bill to fix how rating agencies work, while not getting rid of rating agencies as

I thought Network Neutrality was about restricting what businesses could do? In any other nation I would absolutely say the government should just own the internet. In the US I'm a bit more cautious but I agree that companies can't be giv

I'm not so sure this is the case. Even though finance is usually an easier environment (e.g. the markets aren't open 24/7 so the apps usually don't have high availability) the people hiring there think that if you haven't worked in finance

iPhone apps would apparently have this problem. Simple solution? If the app can't do some function because of a user setting it pops up an alert with a button pointing to the place to change the setting.... pretty simple.
